Brenda is a Managing Partner with Impact Capital Partners (ICP), with 20+ years of international finance and business development experience. Her mission is to invest for impact in Low Income and Emerging Markets, with a particular focus on gender equity and climate resilience.
With ICP Brenda is piloting an innovative blended finance structure, using mezzanine finance and TA to catalyse private sector investment into SMEs in East Africa, as well as providing Advisory Services to a range of US and European Impact Investors.
Prior roles include Fund Manager for Organic Development Finance (an Emerging Markets supply chain finance fund), Fund Manager at Cordaid Investment Management (NL), and Enterprise Development Officer for Oxfam GB (UK). She engages at board-level engagement with investees, investors, and government entities, and has launched 3 Impact Investment Funds to bring capital to underserved markets.
Brenda holds a DPhil in Mathematics from Oxford University (UK); an MSc in Development Finance, SOAS, University of London (UK); an MSc in Numerical Analysis, Oxford University (UK) and a BSc in Mathematics, University Of Guelph (Canada).
